We're looking for a Senior Planner to join our Water business team working on a project in Wisley, Surrey.
Location: home as well as site in Surrey and Gerard Cross office in Buckinghamshire; Hours: 45 hours per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.

The Water business unit within Kier's Natural Resources division delivers a diverse range of projects across all stages of their lifecycle. As a Senior Planner, you'll play a pivotal role in the successful delivery of major, complex multi‑discipline infrastructure projects that have a lasting impact on communities. You'll be working on large‑scale civil engineering and mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, control and automation (MEICA) projects, or managing a portfolio of smaller schemes.
Working as part of an integrated planning team, you'll develop robust programmes, monitor progress, identify risks and opportunities, and ensure successful project execution. You may also mentor and support junior members of the planning team, helping them develop their skills and expertise.
Responsibilities
* Leading the planning function for assigned works, producing comprehensive programmes from first principles and ensuring full compliance with contractual requirements
* Collaborating with internal teams, subcontractors, and clients to drive engagement and secure commitment to delivery plans
* Identifying and managing risks, issues, and opportunities, providing impact assessments and scenario‑based "what‑if" programmes to enable informed decisions
* Supporting the delivery team through collaborative planning, ensuring alignment of stage plans, lookaheads, and weekly plans to project objectives
* Contributing to commercial recovery activities, undertaking analytical assessments for prolongation and extension of time claims
Qualifications
* You have relevant on‑site experience on complex, major construction projects, preferably multi‑discipline works in the water sector
* You have proven successful planning experience, with comprehensive knowledge of planning techniques and methodologies
* You're proficient in planning software packages, particularly Primavera P6, and have experience planning from first principles
* You have a comprehensive understanding of commercial and contractual matters relating to time, including extensions of time and prolongation
* You possess excellent communication skills and can confidently manage relationships with clients, stakeholders, and team members at all levels
