Action for Conservation is a grassroots charity using innovative approaches to inspire and empower young people from diverse backgrounds to become the next generation of environmental leaders.
In 2019, we launched our flagship intergenerational nature restoration project, the Penpont Project, on a 2,000-acre estate in Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons), Wales.
We are currently looking to appoint a Community Tree Nursery Coordinator to join the Penpont Project and look after our Community Tree Nursery.
The postholder will grow trees from native tree species, including trees of conservation and heritage value, with support from local community volunteers of all ages, which they will engage through regular events and activities.
The focus of the role is as much on intergenerational learning and community engagement through the processes of tree rearing as it is on producing trees for planting out across the landscape.
This is a brilliant opportunity for someone with good horticultural knowledge and a passion for working with young people and communities.
Please be aware that this is a physically active role, and you should be willing to work outdoors most of the time.
This role is 2/3 days per week until December 2027, with the option to extend subject to funding.
