We are looking for a Mechanical shift production Engineer to join our team. It will be your responsibility to ensure all breakdowns are responded and resolved in a timely manner. Ensuring great communication and co-ordination are used. It will also be your responsibility to ensure preventative maintenance is scheduled and applied in order to adhere to health and safety.

The Responsibilities of the Mechanical shift production Engineer will be:
11. Reporting to the team leader, assisting in the efficient operation of the mechanical function.
12. React as first line response to breakdowns, diagnose faults and carrying out repairs effectively.
13. Following routine and condition-based maintenance schedules as generated through our Internal Maintenance Management System.
14. Providing accurate and sufficient feedback for the day engineering team through our Internal Maintenance Management System.
15. Undertake improvement projects under supervision of the day engineering team as required by the business.
16. Working to a good standard of health and safety in a team working environment.
Requirements
17. Ability to follow Safe working procedures.
18. Aware of basic risk assessment and able to at point risk assess / identify hazards.
19. Working at heights
20. Isolation and Immobilisation systems
21. Demonstrate a good all-round level of Health, safety and environment awareness specific to the role.
22. Recognised Mechanical apprenticeship (ONC level or equivalent)
23. Mechanical experience of industrial systems.
24. Maintenance of Gearbox’s and coupling systems
25. Experience in use of mechanical equipment, specialist tools, and lifting equipment
26. Fault finding experience on Hydraulic, Pneumatics and water systems.
27. Experience in equipment / spares strip down and rebuild – bench fitting / refurbishment work
28. Mechanical maintenance of handling equipment, pumps and pipework systems
29. Crane maintenance experience
30. Basic hydraulic, welding and pipefitting skills
31. Good level of problem-solving awareness
32. Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings and work with technical data.
33. Experience of a similar role.
34. Reporting of PPM activities and breakdowns.
35. Demonstrate good housekeeping awareness and standards.
36. Experience of adhering to SWP’s, risk assessments, procedures, and permit systems.
37. Team working, worked within a team and / or capable of self-direction.
This is a Day and Night shift position, no weekend work required.
