As a MongoDB Database Administrator, you will work in project teams designing, building, and maintaining MongoDB databases and infrastructure to deliver strong business solutions. You will be involved from design and build to supporting both non-production and production environments. For this role, you will spend at least two days per week in our offices in London, Swindon, Northampton, or Bournemouth. If you are outside these locations, you will need to attend once a month for workshops and meetings. Further details will be provided upon successful application. What you’ll be doing
You will collaborate within delivery teams, applying your technical leadership and SME knowledge to design, build, and implement solutions in MongoDB. You will guide less experienced engineers and contribute to creating fit-for-purpose designs to meet team objectives. On-call work may be required occasionally.
About you
You should have proven experience in delivering technical solutions with MongoDB, including:
* Linux operating system concepts
* Configuring and supporting MongoDB OpsManager for backups and deployments
* Understanding MongoDB architecture, replication, and sharding
* Supporting JSON document structures, including export/import
* Troubleshooting and performance tuning in MongoDB for development and testing teams
* Ability to work across multiple projects and teams
* Willingness to share expertise and mentor others
* Strong stakeholder relationship skills
* Quick learner of new technologies
Knowledge and experience in at least three of the following areas are desirable:
* Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Ansible)
* LDAP integration
* Red Hat OpenShift
* Kafka
* Network/security concepts
* Agile/Scrum methodologies
* Regulatory environments (PCI, GDPR)
* Working with third-party suppliers
