We're looking for a Chartered Bridge Engineer to join our Structures team, supporting a range of high-profile infrastructure projects for Transport Scotland. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the development and maintenance of Scotland's trunk road network.
Role Overview
* Locations: Various project sites across Scotland, with design hubs in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Motherwell, Perth, and Aberdeen
* Rate: £50-£55 per hour (umbrella) - negotiable based on experience
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver robust and technically sound engineering solutions for bridges and related structures
* Lead and support junior engineers and technicians
* Prepare and review structural designs, calculations, and technical documentation
* Collaborate with clients and attend project meetings
* Ensure all work complies with health, safety, and regulatory standards
Candidate Requirements
* Demonstrated experience in bridge or structural engineering
* Chartered Engineer status (ICE or IStructE) - essential
* Proficiency in relevant design software (e.g., LUSAS, Autodesk Structural Bridge Design)
* Strong knowledge of CDM regulations and risk management practices
* Ability to work independently and lead small project teams
