We are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to play a key role within the business to drive growth across the contractor’s project portfolio. Acting as a key link between clients and internal teams, you will originate and develop opportunities, shape winning strategies, and coordinate bid activity from early engagement through to contract award. Working in partnership with pre-construction, design, and commercial functions, you will ensure opportunities are commercially viable and strategically aligned before transitioning secured projects into the delivery phase. Key responsibilities Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients to generate repeat and new business Lead bid teams through early design development, cost planning, and submission stages Produce accurate pricing strategies, cost models, and commercial proposals Compile and coordinate tender submissions, including presentations to clients Take ownership of contractual discussions, covering technical scope, commercial terms, and risk allocation Finalise agreements and oversee a structured handover into planning and construction teams Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and emerging opportunities to support wider business strategy About you Demonstrable success in securing construction projects, particularly within industrial or logistics environments Background in construction management, estimating, quantity surveying, or a related discipline Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence clients and internal stakeholders Commercially astute, confident in negotiation, and comfortable working independently Willing to be site-based in Birmingham on a full-time basis Why Apply?
