Job Title: Senior Configuration Engineer
Location: Stevenage (relocation package may be available)
Working Pattern: Dynamic (hybrid) working – 2–3 days per week on-site due to workload classification
Security Clearance: British Citizen or Dual UK national with British citizenship
The Role
My Client is looking for a talented engineering professional with a strong eye for detail and proven experience in controlling and managing product data to join us as a Senior Configuration Engineer.
Using your background in configuration control and technical data management, you will work within a close-knit, motivated team to provide direct configuration support to several of our key business products. This role offers excellent exposure across engineering, manufacturing and supply chain functions, along with opportunities to further develop your configuration expertise and work towards professional accreditation.
The Opportunity
As a Configuration Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the integrity, accuracy and governance of engineering data throughout the product lifecycle. Your work will support complex, high-value programmes and help ensure that design intent is accurately captured, controlled and communicated.

What We’re Looking For

Background in Configuration Control or Technical Data Management within a Defence, Aerospace or similar regulated engineering environment

Demonstrable experience interpreting technical data and Bills of Materials for large and complex product assemblies
*
Good understanding of Configuration Management principles, including the preparation and control of CM documentation used to govern project activities
*
Experience managing and implementing engineering design changes in a multi-stakeholder environment, including presenting changes at change control meetings
*
Ability to support supplier audits, ensuring configuration management processes are applied consistently across the supply chain
*
Strong team-working and communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with peers, functional teams and project stakeholders
*
A high level of attention to detail, applied with integrity when controlling engineering data, drawings and CAD models
*
Experience of PTC Windchill or similar Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tools (desirable)
*
