Class Teacher (PMLD Specialist)
Salary: £180-260 Per Day
Contract Type: Full Time, Permanent
Location: South London – SE – Lambeth
Start Date: ASAP to trial for a start in September 2025

We at Prospero Teaching are working with a thriving special school committed to providing outstanding education and care to children and young people aged 11-19 with a range of complex needs including PMLD, Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). You will play a key role in shaping a rich, stimulating, and personalised curriculum that enables every learner to thrive.
What We’re Looking For:
1. A qualified teacher (QTS or overseas equivalent) with experience in SEN settings, particularly with learners with PMLD.
2. Someone confident in leading a small team of teaching assistants, with a commitment to collaborative, person-centred learning.
3. A skilled communicator who can work effectively with parents, carers, therapists, and other professionals.
4. An organised and reflective practitioner, capable of leading on planning, assessment, reporting and behaviour support.
5. A teacher who brings creativity, warmth, and resilience to their classroom practice.
Key Responsibilities:
6. Deliver engaging, multi-sensory teaching that supports highly individualised PLIMs (Personal Learning Intention Maps).
7. Lead and manage a class team to create a safe, structured, and positive learning environment.
8. Design and assess learning that reflects both the National Curriculum and specialist SEN strategies.
9. Develop and implement behaviour support plans and contribute to school-wide assemblies and enrichment.
10. Contribute to the development of the school’s sensory curriculum and wider curriculum leadership (M6-UP3).
