Salary: AH3 to AH5 - £42,000 to £51,000

ALP Schools provide continuity in learning for pupils with Education, Health and Care Plans. We are a provision for learners on the autism spectrum or who have other special educational needs and require quality first teaching strategies to be implemented.. We cater for young people in their primary, secondary and post 16 school years. The overarching purpose of our provision is to work with children so that they are able to overcome the barriers to learning that they have previously encountered. We aim to offer flexible, structured and supportive needs led approaches.
We are looking for an Assistant Headteacher Pastoral/Special educational needs coordinator (SENCo). The post holder will have a responsibility for ensuring the safeguarding procedures and SEND provision for all learners in the school meets expectations. They will need to ensure that the school upholds its duties according to Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) and the SEN Code of Practice. They will coordinate, monitor and develop opportunities for all learners with SEND in accordance with national and local guidance and the school’s SEND Policy.
The post holder will also engage with teaching and learning activities within the school (this is to be determined relative to the teaching background of the candidate). They will lead the planning, preparation and delivery of lessons for a specific subject area.
