Deputy Head of Care (Children's Home)
Full-Time | 37.5 Hours per Week | 52 Weeks per Year
Salary: Up to £34,000 (Dependent on Experience and Qualifications)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated Deputy Head of Care to join a residential care setting for children and young people with complex needs. This position is ideal for an experienced practitioner looking to take the next step into a senior leadership role within children's residential care.
Role Overview:
You will support the Registered Manager in overseeing the day-to-day running of a children’s home. Your focus will be on delivering high standards of care, guiding and supporting care staff, and ensuring services are delivered in line with regulatory standards and the home's ethos and values.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead, guide, and support residential care teams in delivering consistent, high-quality care.
Act as a role model for best practice, especially in managing complex behaviours and safeguarding concerns.
Participate in the on-call rota and serve as a Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) – full training provided.
Essential Requirements:
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in residential childcare, including supporting children with challenging behaviours.
Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
Willingness to work toward a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (funded).
Strong leadership skills and the ability to support and motivate staff teams.
A valid driving licence and access to transport is desirable due to the nature of the role.
