Digital Marketing & Communications Officer
The Digital Marketing and Communications Officer will play a key role in delivering the Millennium Forum’s Digital and Social Media strategies. This role focuses on building brand visibility online, boosting ticket sales through data-led campaigns, and driving audiences to the Millennium Forum’s website.A major part of the role will be developing both existing and new audiences by creating innovative digital content and running targeted campaigns that highlight the Millennium Forum locally, nationally, and internationally. The post-holder will produce engaging, original, and on-brand content across a range of platforms, including our website, showcasing our productions, business and community programmes, and the important role the Millennium Forum plays in the cultural life of the North West.We are looking for an experienced, creative, and commercially minded digital marketer who understands what’s trending, what’s converting, and how to respond quickly to opportunities. You’ll combine creativity with commercial focus to ensure campaigns deliver measurable growth in reach, engagement, and revenue.
Responsibilities
* Design written content, graphics, audio, video for social platforms, ensuring a consistent brand identity.
* Develop and deliver the Millennium Forum’s Digital & Social Media Plans.
* Manage digital campaigns across all platforms, including scheduling, engagement, and community management.
* Monitor and report on campaign budgets in consultation with the Development and Creative Engagement Manager.
* Build relationships with audiences and influencers to create brand advocates and drive engagement.
* Act as an online ambassador for the Millennium Forum, engaging in dialogue and answering queries.
* Analyse and test new social media platforms, trends, and viral opportunities to enhance reach and conversions
* Manage the Millennium Forum’s website (Craft CMS), ensuring content is accurate, optimised and user-focused across all devices.
* Plan and implement creative digital campaigns using Google Ads, Meta Ads and other platforms, integrating with offline activity.
* Create and update content, working with promoters and internal teams to maintain a coherent customer journey.
* Optimise campaigns through testing and data analysis to maximise ROI.
* Lead on Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) and Search Engine Marketing (SEM) to strengthen online visibility.
* Design campaign templates on Mailchimp for performances, education and conference market for weekly newsletters and programme updates.
* Manage pre- and post-visit emails to enhance the customer journey. Monitor open rates, click-throughs, unsubscribes and revenue, providing regular reports.
* Identify suitable audiences for each campaign using the ENTA Box Office system.
* Ensure GDPR compliance and maintain newsletter subscriptions in partnership with Marketing and Box Office colleagues.
* Develop automated customer journeys to improve retention, upselling and cross-selling.
* Create, monitor and evaluate multi-channel marketing campaigns using analytics tools to report back to the Development and Creative Engagement Manager.
* Responding to customer queries or complaints in real time.
* Provide daily monitoring and weekly/monthly reporting on the website and social activity, highlighting actionable insights.
* Track ticket sales against marketing activity to identify which channels are driving conversions.
* Use data to understand audience behaviours and recommend strategies to grow younger audiences while maintaining loyalty among core demographics.

Skills and Qualifications
* A degree in Marketing, Digital Marketing, Communications, Media, or a related field. Plus 1 year of professional experience in digital marketingORA level 4/5 qualification (e.g. HNC, HND, CIM,) plus at least 2 years’ professional experience in d
* Experience with content management systems (CMS), preferably open-source (e.g. Craft, WordPress, Drupal)
* Experience in content creation and publishing (copywriting, graphics, video)
* Proven experience in social and digital media management, including reporting and evaluation
* Track record in planning and optimising digital campaigns across paid and organic channels
* Strong project management and organisational skills
* Proficiency in using analytics tools (e.g. Google Analytics GA4, Meta Business Suite, TikTok Ads Manager)
* Evidence of commercial awareness with the ability to deliver campaigns that drive ticket sales, conversions, and ROI
* p-to-date knowledge of social media platforms and trends (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube)
* Strong skills in design and video tools (Adobe Creative Suite and/or Canva, Premiere Pro, After Effects or similar)
* Experience with paid advertising platforms (Google Ads, Meta Ads, TikTok Ads, YouTube Ads)
* Understanding of influencer campaigns and ambassador marketing
* Working knowledge of SEO and SEM strategies
* Hold other digital marketing certifications (Google, Meta, TikTok, HubSpot, SEMrush, etc.)
* Have experience with CRM or database systems such as ENTA (training will be provided)
* Have experience working with cultural, entertainment, or ticketed-event marketing
