This national multi-disciplinary consultancy provides Building Surveying, Cost Consultancy, Project Management and Professional Services to commercial clients. Its Surveying & Project Management team works closely with in-house specialists across several built environment disciplines. The Birmingham team supports commercial clients across project and professional instructions. Work includes commercial surveying, refurbishment schemes, contract administration and advisory services. Role & Responsibilities
1. Lead and deliver a broad range of commercial Building Surveying services for retained clients
2. Manage dilapidations matters for landlords and tenants, including assessment, preparation and negotiation
3. Undertake Technical Due Diligence for acquisitions, disposals, refinancing and commercial property instructions
4. Deliver refurbishment and fit-out projects from initial brief through to practical completion
5. Act as Project Manager and Employer’s Agent across varied commercial schemes when required
6. Prepare defect analysis reports, schedules of condition, PPM reports and reinstatement cost assessments
7. Administer building contracts using JCT and NEC forms across commercial project work
8. Mentor Graduate Building Surveyors and provide technical APC support across the team
Skills & Experience Required
9. Degree in Building Surveying or a closely related discipline from a recognised institution
10. MRICS qualified with consultancy experience delivering commercial Building Surveying services
11. Minimum three year post-qualification experience within a consultancy or commercial surveying environment
12. Proven experience across dilapidations, Technical Due Diligence, contract administration and project delivery
13. Experience acting as Project Manager or Employer’s Agent on commercial refurbishment schemes
14. Strong working knowledge of JCT and NEC contracts within commercial project environments
15. Excellent technical, contractual and regulatory knowledge with confident client-facing communication skills
16. Full UK driving licence with the ability to manage multiple instructions simultaneously
