HR CONSULTANT
Location: Beds, Herts, Cambs area, home-based with some travel to clients required.
RBA is seeking an experienced HR professional to join their expanding consultancy team.
This role offers the best of both worlds – the freedom to grow a client portfolio with the security of a salaried position, along with training and support from our team.
The ideal candidate will likely be a graduate member of CIPD or hold a law degree, with extensive practical multi-site HR experience (minimum 5 years). You should be a technically competent advisor with up-to-date employment law knowledge. Most importantly, you must demonstrate excellent consultancy skills and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
The successful candidate will provide dedicated advice to SME clients, working with business owners and managers to implement pragmatic solutions for business success. This is NOT a reactive desk job, strategic policy role, or employee welfare position, but rather a HR business partner role.
The consultant role operates Monday to Friday, managing your own diary with a mix of home and client site visits. Compensation includes a basic salary plus bonuses based on fee earnings. The OTE for the first year is approximately £48,000, with potential for growth.

Job Description
The candidate must be able to explain and demonstrate:
* The employer’s legal obligations regarding:
* Unfair dismissal
* Discrimination
* Breach of contract
* Employment contracts
* Principles of business protection
* Employment handbooks, policies, procedures, and guidance
Additionally, the candidate should have practical experience in implementing strategies for:
* Absence management (including capability dismissals)
* Investigation and disciplinary procedures
* Redundancy, both collective and non-collective
* Business reorganization, mergers, and TUPE
* Family-friendly policies, including flexible work requests
* Job evaluation
* Pay and reward systems
* Health and safety compliance
Ideally, the candidate can demonstrate one or more of the following:
* Designing and delivering effective training for non-HR managers
* Employment tribunal case management
* Representation at employment tribunals
* Drafting and implementing settlement agreements and COT3 settlements
* Health and safety inspections and reporting

The successful candidate must have:
* Excellent presentation skills, articulate, and clear communication abilities
* A solution-focused approach to HR management
* The ability to persuade and influence stakeholders
* Commercial awareness and focus on business outcomes
