Are you a nurturing EYFS teacher with a passion for supporting young children with special educational needs from the very start of their learning journey?
Tradewind Recruitment is proud to support a specialist SEN primary school in the North Lincolnshire area, dedicated to providing early years children with Autism, learning disabilities, and complex needs with the nurturing, structured support they need to thrive.
This is more than a teaching job-it's a chance to help young children take their very first steps toward confidence, communication, and independence.
The Role - EYFS SEN Teacher
As an EYFS SEN Teacher, you'll lead a small class of children with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) in a specialist school environment. You'll plan multi-sensory, play-based activities that develop communication, social interaction, and early learning skills-while supporting emotional regulation and independence.
Your responsibilities will include:
Delivering a tailored early years curriculum for children with Autism and complex needs
Creating a safe, predictable, and stimulating classroom where each child is supported and celebrated
Using specialist strategies like PECS, Makaton, TEACCH, and sensory integration techniques
Leading and working alongside skilled teaching assistants to meet daily care and learning needs
Setting personalised targets and contributing to IEPs and EHCP reviews to track and celebrate every small step of progress
Collaborating with therapists, families, and SENCOs to ensure holistic, child-centred support
What We're Looking For
We're seeking someone with the skills, sensitivity, and dedication to nurture young children with diverse needs.
You will need:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) (EYTS considered with relevant SEN experience)
Experience in an EYFS setting, ideally with children with SEND
Knowledge of Autism, learning disabilities, and early childhood development
Familiarity with early communication strategies (e.g., PECS, Makaton, AAC)
A calm, patient and positive approach to managing behaviour and sensory needs
Commitment to inclusive practice and personalised learning
Desirable:
Experience working in a special school, Autism unit, or EYFS nurture provision
Training in Team Teach, Attention Autism, or Zones of Regulation
What We Offer
A rewarding opportunity to shape the start of a child's education journey
A supportive and compassionate school environment
Access to high-quality CPD and specialist SEN training
Small class sizes with excellent TA support
Competitive pay reflective of experience and impact
