Responsibilities
1. Architecting and overall end-to-end design, deployment and delivery of Azure Data Platforms, across Data Lakes, Data Warehouses, Data Lakehouses, pipelines
2. Databricks, BI and Data Analytics solutions
3. Presales, estimating and proposal writing, responding to RFPs
4. Remaining up to date in new and emerging technologies
5. Working with clients to develop data technology strategy and roadmaps, and plan delivery
6. Oversight and support of delivery team outputs
7. Data modelling, design, and build
8. Infrastructure as Code delivery
9. Enforcing technical architecture and documentation standards, policies and procedures
10. Analysing, implementing, and resolving issues with existing Azure Data Platforms
11. Working with business experts and customers to understand business needs, and translate business requirements into reporting and data analytics functionality
12. Assisting in scoping, estimation and task planning for assigned projects
13. Following the project work plans to meet functionality requirements, project objectives and timelines
14. Providing accurate and complete technical architectural documents
15. Addressing customer queries and issues in a timely manner
16. Providing mentoring and hands on guidance to other team members
Requirements
17. Experience in designing and implementing Azure Data solutions using services such as: Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Databricks, Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2, Azure
18. SQL Database, Azure Data Factory, Azure DevOps, Azure Stream Analytics, Azure Blob storage, Azure Cosmos DB, ARM templates.
19. Familiar with Microsoft Power BI
20. Familiar with Azure Purview
21. An understanding of Master Data Management and Data Governance frameworks
22. Familiar with Infrastructure as Code approaches and implementations
23. Familiar with development approaches such as CI/CD
24. Familiar with Azure DevOps
25. Strong communication and collaboration skills
26. Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
27. Ability to work as a team member and leader in a diverse technical environment
28. Be customer-service oriented
29. Be able to work in a fast-paced, changing environment.
30. Proficient in spoken and written English
31. Willing to travel across the UK and abroad when required
32. Graduate-level education in Computer Science or a relevant field, or a widely recognised professional qualification at a comparable level
33. Formal training and/or certification on related technologies is highly valued
34. Minimum of three years working in a similar role
35. Knowledge of Common Data Models/Industry Data Models/Synapse Analytics
36. Database templates will be considered an asset
37. Experience in OLAP technology and the Microsoft on-premises BI Stack
38. (SSIS/SSRS/SSAS) will be useful but is not compulsory
39. Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 products, the Common Data Service (CDS) and the Microsoft Power Platform will be considered an asset
