Salary: £25,322 - £25,623 (pro-rata for part-time and sessional)
Hours: 10 per week, 40 weeks sessional
Schedule: 5pm - 7pm Monday - Friday
As a cleaner with the City of Edinburgh Council, you'll be a key member of our Facilities Management team. You'll deliver essential cleaning services across our estate to ensure our properties are safe and clean places to work or learn. MAJOR TASKS/JOB ACTIVITIES
* Emptying litter and recycling bins
* Cleaning all surfaces, internal glass, floors, furniture, fixtures, and fittings within buildings
* Cleaning sanitary areas, toilets, showers, and replenishing washroom consumables
* Emergency and reactive cleaning, e.g., graffiti removal, spillages
* Maintaining the care and cleanliness of equipment used
* Supporting cleaning tasks across other buildings as required
* Meeting cleaning specifications and cooperating with performance measurement to ensure standards
*Facilities Management is responsible for keyholding to enable opening and closing of buildings. The post involves being a key holder, operating security alarms, closing windows and doors, switching off lights, and ensuring premises are secure at closing.

This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will need to join the PVG Scheme or undergo an update check.
