Role: Group Financial Controller Location: Derbyshire Working Arrangement: Full-Time | Fully Onsite Salary: Up to £100,000 Benefits We are recruiting a Group Financial Controller on behalf of a private equitybacked, rapidly scaling, multi-site group. This is a pivotal appointment, reporting directly to the CFO, with responsibility for strengthening financial control, enhancing reporting capability, and building a best-in-class finance function to support an ambitious buy-and-build growth strategy. Key Responsibilities Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team across the group Deliver timely, accurate consolidated monthly management accounts and MI Produce board-level reporting packs with insightful financial commentary Oversee cashflow, liquidity, and working capital optimisation Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning cycles Manage covenant reporting and maintain strong lender relationships Drive improvements across finance systems, processes, and internal controls Strengthen the overall financial control and governance framework Lead finance integration for newly acquired entities and sites Manage relationships with auditors, banks, tax advisors, and external partners Ensure full compliance with UK statutory reporting requirements Act as the technical accounting lead, including complex accounting matters and VAT considerations Candidate Profile Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) Proven track record of leading and developing finance teams Strong technical accounting expertise, including statutory reporting and complex VAT Confident communicator with excellent stakeholder management skills Strategic mindset combined with strong attention to detail Comfortable operating at both hands-on and board-interaction level Experience in a private equitybacked environment is advantageous but not essential The Opportunity This is a high-impact leadership role within a fast-growing PE-backed organisation, offering genuine influence, exposure to strategic decision-making, and clear progression potential as the group continues to scale through acquisition.
