Job Title: 1st Line IT Engineer (MSP) Location: Kidderminster Salary: Up to £28,000 per annum Are you a customer-focused 1st Line IT Engineer looking to take your career further within a busy Managed Service Provider (MSP) environment? This is a fantastic opportunity to gain exposure to a wide range of clients, technologies, and projects while developing your technical skills in a supportive team. Key Responsibilities Act as the first point of contact for client IT queries via phone, email, and remote support tools. Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and networking issues. Provide support for Microsoft 365, Windows 10/11, and common business applications. Set up and configure desktops, laptops, printers, and mobile devices for clients. Manage Active Directory accounts, password resets, and user permissions. Escalate complex issues to 2nd/3rd Line Engineers where required. Document incidents, fixes, and client information in the ticketing system. Assist with project work such as system upgrades, cloud migrations, and new deployments. What You'll Bring Previous experience in a 1st Line or Service Desk role, ideally within an MSP. Good working knowledge of Microsoft environments (Windows OS, Office 365, Active Directory). Basic networking skills (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, VPNs). Familiarity with remote monitoring and management (RMM) tools is desirable. Excellent troubleshooting skills and a logical, methodical approach. Strong communication skills, able to deliver outstanding customer service. A proactive, eager-to-learn mindset with ambition to progress to 2nd Line and beyond.
