Overview
Manchester Equipment and Adaptations Partnership (MEAP) is seeking to recruit a Project Surveyor to work within their technical team. This post offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the effective operation of the technical service within MEAP. MEAP deals with the assessment of applicants for provision of complex equipment and major adaptations, Moving and Handling risk assessments and the assessment for and provision of Blue Badges (parking concessions for disabled and blind people).
This role is key to making an impact in the service by providing appropriate adaptations to disabled and older people, enhancing independence, preventing falls and hospital admissions, and reducing reliance on care services. The aim is to offer a comprehensive, coordinated and streamlined service to our customers. The role includes a full range of Building Surveying services, including preparing detailed, accurate Schedule of Works and specifications for the provision of adaptations for the disabled, to a range of properties.
Responsibilities
* Provide a full range of Building Surveying services, including preparing detailed, accurate Schedule of Works and specifications for adaptations for the disabled.
* Assess and coordinate provision of complex equipment and major adaptations, including related risk assessments.
* Coordinate site visits, ensure quality control, and manage cost control across multiple schemes.
* Convert requests and information into drawing formats using a CAD system; demonstrate proficiency as a surveyor across housing types.
* Communicate effectively with building contractors, the public, tenants, local councillors, MPs and other stakeholders; make decisions based on Policies, Procedures and Practices.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Driving Licence: you must always hold a full valid driving licence.
* Essential Car Documentation: designated Essential Car User; must hold a full valid driving licence and provide your own car for work; you will receive the Essential Car User Allowance.
* Qualification or Experience: a qualification (e.g., HNC/HND, BSc, MSc or equivalent) or significant demonstrable experience or served a recognised apprenticeship in Building Construction.
* Trusted Assessor Level 2 (or willing to undertake).
* DBS clearance: Enhanced DBS check may be required; information handled confidentially in accordance with DBS Code of Practice.
