Overview
GI Clinical Physiologist position in Salford Royal Gastro-Intestinal Physiology Department based at The Willows Centre. The successful applicant will be competent in GI Physiology (upper and lower GI) or be able to train through the Accredited Scientist Pathway (ASP). Nursing-qualified candidates with a science degree (minimum BSc) may be accepted to facilitate training.
Responsibilities
Undertake oesophageal manometry, 24-hour impedance monitoring, and anorectal physiology investigations. Analyze and report findings with technical and clinical reports. Be a team player in a busy department with referrals from across the North West and the trust. Training through the ASP pathway may be required; work-based training, an online portfolio, academic modules with Newcastle University, and an end-point assessment are included. There is potential to expand knowledge to include other investigations and treatments such as biofeedback and capsule enteroscopy. AGIP accreditation and AHCS registration are desirable but not essential as they can be worked towards.
