Overview
Research Associate in Bioinformatics – The University of Manchester. This post is a Grade 6 Research Associate position that is available to start immediately. You will join the MCP group and contribute to the research theme focused on discovering how biology influences pathological response to neoadjuvant chemotherapy in advanced HGSOC.
Responsibilities
* Analyse data generated from imaging mass cytometry on patient biopsies to answer key research questions focused on chemotherapy response score (CRS).
* Develop an AI/machine learning model using spatial proteomics that can accurately differentiate CRS phenotypes.
* Apply the AI/machine learning algorithm to tissue microarrays built from patients recruited to the phase 3 trial ICON8b.
* Use multi‑omic data from the Living Biobank, including whole genome sequencing, single‑cell WGS, RNA‑seq and bulk proteomics, to identify cell cycle vulnerabilities and develop new biomarkers in HGSOC.
* Produce high‑quality research outputs, including presentations at international and national conferences and manuscripts for peer‑reviewed publications.
* Work collaboratively as a good team player.
Qualifications
* Bio‑informatic expertise, with experience using R and/or Python.
* High attention to detail and ambition to deliver high‑quality research.
* Experience or interest in ovarian cancer research is welcomed but not required.
* Capability to produce presentations and manuscripts at national and international levels.
