Enforcement Officer - Environmental Protection

The Enforcement Officer's role is to undertake investigations for statutory nuisances such as noise, odour, smoke etc and a range of other public health functions in both domestic and commercial premises. In addition, the role will include other functions as required such as assessing planning and licensing application.

You will be undertaking the range of functions carried out by the Environmental Protection Team, which includes investigating complaints relating to statutory nuisances such noise, odour, smoke and dust. In addition, there are a range of other duties which include investigating public health issues, inspecting industrial processes and reviewing both planning and licensing applications. You must have experience of conducting inspections and investigations across a range of activities and be able to interpret and implement key legislation and work with partner agencies.

You must have a degree in Environmental Health or a relevant environment related degree pertaining to the area of work, be able to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, have excellent communication skills and able to prioritise your workload.
