Offer description

Are you looking for something a bit different, a new challenge, a varied role?

Wathwood is an award-winning mental health hospital that prides itself on providing the highest quality of care to our patients.

We have exciting opportunities at Wathwood in our unique Medium Secure setting. Whether you are newly qualified and looking to take your first step on your career ladder, or seeking a new challenge, we have something to suit everyone.

We are recruiting care assistants to join our multidisciplinary teams within the hospital. The ideal candidates will be motivated to establish therapeutic relationships with patients and be actively involved in delivering patient care. Experience in a forensic setting is desirable but not essential. You will also assist patients with their reintegration into the community as part of their rehabilitation and recovery.

If successful, you will work as part of a team on a ward, doing a 24-hour rotation which includes unsocial hours payments.

Please note: this vacancy is based in Rotherham, South Yorkshire.

We are looking for enthusiastic, compassionate, and highly motivated care assistants to join our teams. This challenging but rewarding role aims to make a difference in our patients' lives.

Applicants will need to:

* Have excellent interpersonal skills
* Work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
* Be committed to providing high standards of care
* Promote and maintain high standards through communication, motivation, supervision, and role modeling

We are committed to supporting our staff's growth by providing the necessary skills, development, and support, including a dedicated health and wellbeing team.

You will participate as a member of the nursing team, delivering appropriate care packages within a secure environment, following established procedures, with supervision available.

Routine communication and feedback to supervisors are expected.

The four wards allow gradual patient progression, helping develop life skills and prepare for less restrictive environments.

#TeamNottsHC comprises over 11,000 colleagues delivering services across Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, and South Yorkshire, in various settings including community, acute, and secure environments.

We are one of the largest mental health and community trusts in the East Midlands, hosting national and regional services such as the National High Secure Deaf Service and the Nottingham Centre for Transgender Health.

We offer employee-led networks supporting diversity and inclusion, health and wellbeing, and environmental sustainability.

The health and wellbeing of colleagues is a top priority, supported by in-house occupational health and counseling services.

Our trust is committed to reducing carbon emissions, working towards our net-zero goal.
