Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity for a thoughtful, proactive, and enthusiastic Neuro Physiotherapist to join our West Lancashire Neuro Therapy Team.
The Community Neuro and Stroke Service Planned Neuro Rehab Team provides occupational therapy assessment and rehabilitation in the community for adults with complex long term neurological conditions. This includes people with MS, MND, Parkinson's, stroke, FND and other neurological conditions.
The purpose of this role is to provide specialist person-centred assessment, rehabilitation and management for people with long term neurological conditions including the promotion of health and prevention of secondary complications.
This is a permanent, full-time role to provide specialist neurological Physiotherapy coverage in the West Lancashire community area. The role will involve community- based working so it is essential to have a UK driving licence and be registered with UK HCPC.
Main duties of the job
As a Neuro Physiotherapist, you will:
1. Undertake skilled and specialist assessment to formulate individualised management and treatment plans using evidence based clinical reasoning skills and utilising a wide range of treatment skills and options.
2. Devise and carry out specific exercise programs and to assess and prescribe 24 hour postural management programs.
3. Be actively involved in the Neuro in service training program, participate in potential research opportunities and work with team members on poster presentations for national conferences.
4. Assist the Community AHP Service Lead and other senior team members in the day to day running of the service, by assisting with monitoring caseloads and managing and prioritising referrals

The Ideal Candidate
12. Hold a recognised professional qualifications in physiotherapy
13. Registered with HCPC
14. Able to role model and promote interdisciplinary working, in order to ensure efficient and person centered care
15. Have relevant experience of working closely and effectively in a multidisciplinary team and with other health, social care and voluntary sector colleagues
16. Have expert clinical knowledge and experience of working with people with neurological conditions and demonstrate an understanding of the long term impact on individuals and their carers
As this is a community-based role a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes is required.
