Graduate Civil Engineering Technician
The Role
Provide technical support to projects within the region during construction and close‑out phases.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide technical support during the construction and project close‑out phases.
* Support the design, planning and execution of construction projects within the region.
* Prepare technical drawings, designs and plans using AutoCAD.
* Assist in the preparation of design calculations and specifications in line with project requirements.
* Set out construction works to ensure accuracy and adherence to project plans.
* Monitor project progress and identify potential issues, providing timely resolutions where required.
* Address any design issues identified during the construction phase.
* Supervise contractor work to ensure compliance with specifications, plans and remedial work where required.
* Ensure current revisions of drawings are used on site.
* Conduct site surveys and inspections to verify compliance with design specifications.
Health, Safety & Environmental
* Ensure construction activities comply with UK Building Regulations, environmental standards and health and safety requirements.
* Carry out risk assessments.
* Liaise with regulatory authorities to obtain relevant permits and ensure project compliance.
* Comply with company procedures and legal obligations.
Technical Support
* Support Civil Engineers in preparing project documentation, including reports, schedules and cost estimates.
* Interpret technical drawings and guide site teams to ensure clarity and accuracy.
About You
Essential
* Degree/HNC qualified, or equivalent, in civil engineering.
* Sound knowledge and understanding of construction methods, processes and civil engineering principles.
* Experience using AutoCAD and MS Office.
* Attention to detail with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
* Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills with the ability to liaise effectively with clients and staff.
