Job Summary
We are seeking a talented and passionate Sous Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team. As a Sous Chef, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Head Chef in all aspects of food production and kitchen management. You will be responsible for supervising the kitchen staff, ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality, and contributing to an exceptional dining experience for our guests. Responsibilities
* Assist the Head Chef in the planning and execution of menus, ensuring creativity and quality in all dishes.
* Supervise and train kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative team environment.
* Oversee daily food production activities, ensuring adherence to recipes and presentation standards.
* Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene in accordance with health regulations.
* Manage inventory levels, including ordering supplies and minimising waste.
* Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery.
* Help develop new recipes and menu items that align with seasonal offerings and customer preferences.
* Ensure that all kitchen equipment is maintained in good working order.
Qualifications
* Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role within a restaurant or hospitality environment.
* Strong supervisory skills with the ability to manage a diverse team effectively.
* Comprehensive knowledge of food production techniques, culinary trends, and food safety practices.
* Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in both cooking and presentation.
* Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high standards of quality.
* Passion for hospitality and commitment to delivering exceptional guest experiences.
* Culinary qualifications or certifications are advantageous but not essential.
