Job Description:
To provide a compassionate and supportive response to service users who have complex and vulnerable issues who primarily will be insecurely accommodated or rough sleeping. We require an individual who is passionate about supporting vulnerable people, who has compassion and a clear understanding of the homelessness and rough sleeping arena. The post holder must be able to work face to face with challenging and complex people both in a team and autonomously.
The post holder will be responsible for the following:
* Provide Rough Sleepers support including outreach shifts and verification of rough sleepers.
* Supporting service users into accommodation including SWEP and then on to longer term resettlement
* Providing floating support to some service users in supported housing and their own homes.
* Support planning and risk management of service users
* Working out of hours covering assertive outreach shifts with colleagues. To include attendance at the soup kitchen and winter shelter.
* To be able to work on reception at our Community Hub (Trinity) in central Maidstone - helping people who approach for housing and homelessness support.
* Fully cognisant of safeguarding and how one manages those situations as they arise.
* Multi agency working with stakeholders and other agencies for the best interests of the service user.
