We’re looking for an ambitious and commercially minded Survey Manager to lead and grow our SurvaTec business.

This is a senior, hands-on leadership role where you’ll combine technical expertise, client relationship management and commercial acumen to deliver high-quality survey solutions and drive profitable growth. You’ll take ownership of a multi-disciplinary team, manage a regional P&L and play a key part in expanding our utilities surveying and feasibility study service capability.

You’ll start by getting close to the work on the ground – understanding how projects are delivered, building trust with clients and teams – before taking the lead in shaping the future of the service.


Key responsibilities

* Lead the day-to-day operation of regional survey teams, ensuring projects are delivered safely, accurately, on time and to the highest technical standards
* Manage and grow the regional P&L, driving revenue, profitability and cost control
* Develop and deliver a regional growth strategy, identifying new opportunities and expanding existing client relationships
* Lead tendering, pricing and proposal development alongside commercial and technical teams
* Build strong, long-term relationships with key clients, partners and stakeholders
* Represent the business at client meetings, industry events and professional forums
* Recruit, coach and develop a high-performing team, creating a culture of collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement
* Ensure full compliance with health & safety, PAS128, licensing, data integrity and company standards

Requirements

Essential

* Proven experience managing survey teams and delivering complex surveying projects to a high standard
* Strong technical background in utilities surveying, including PAS128
* At least 6 years’ experience working as a surveyor
* Confident using surveying equipment and associated software
* Experience managing budgets, P&L and cost control
* Strong commercial awareness and understanding of tendering processes
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present to senior leadership and clients
* Full UK driving licence and right to work in the UK

Desirable

* At least 2 years’ experience in a management role within utilities surveying and good PAS128 knowledge
* A relevant surveying or civil engineering degree (or equivalent experience)
* Working towards or holding professional membership with CICES
