Job Title: General Assembly Operative
Permanent - Full time, 39.5 hours.
Salary: £12.21p/h, rising to £12.30p/h on successful completion of probation period

Job Overview
An Assembler is a vital part of our manufacturing process, they assemble manufactured products and pack orders according to the requirements and specifications of the final product. Assemblers will use their hands, hand tools or machinery to assemble parts.
Main Duties and responsibilities:
* Assembling parts and components ensuring that all parts are fitted correctly
* Assisting with the laying up and heat-pressing of dye-sub orders
* Read and decipher assembly instructions
* Use hand tools or machines to assemble parts
* Conduct quality control checks
* As & when required and within capabilities, provide operative cover across production departments
* Maintaining paperwork as necessary for the operation of the department
* Ensuring health and safety standards are complied with
* Clean and maintain work area and equipment
* Report any issues or defective parts

Experience, Skills, and Knowledge
General Assembly Operatives must have exceptional attention to detail. This is vital during the manufacturing process, as minor errors or defects can cause serious problems resulting in customer complaints. They must also be excellent at teamwork as most assembly orders require working as part of a team. Assemblers must do their part correctly and help others when necessary. Because of the repetitive and fast nature of the work, Assemblers must have full concentration while working to prevent costly errors. Assemblers must also be self-motivated, this is essential for them to achieve performance metrics, such as completing a specific number of components in a set amount of time ensuring company quality standards are adhered to.
Experience

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to communicate effectively across departments.
* Ability to focus on repetitive tasks and a keen eye for detail.
* Good manual dexterity and good hand-eye coordination, including the ability to assemble parts and components that are often very small.
* Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise work, with an ability to adhere to deadlines.

* IT literate, specifically able to use iPad’s. Full training is provided.
* Ability to use initiative, with problem-solving skills.
