Talent Consultant at Forge Talent - North-West Transactional & Part-Qualified Finance Specialist
Overview
Forge Talent are currently working with an established company in South Manchester who are looking for a Finance Assistant to strengthen its finance team. The role supports day-to-day supplier accounting, reinforces financial controls and contributes to month-end activity within a fast-paced environment.
* Support month-end activity including journal postings and reconciliation work requested by the Finance Lead.
* Produce weekly and monthly sales and finance reports for internal stakeholders.
* Prepare and execute payment runs and maintain accurate payment records.
* Manage supplier relationships: resolve queries, perform reconciliations and support onboarding of new suppliers.
* Administer employee expenses in the organisation’s expense platform and support payroll administration tasks at month end.
* Run and maintain the purchase ledger: process supplier invoices, action queries, and keep the finance inbox under control.
* Keep supplier documentation organised and auditable (POs, goods received notes, invoices, payment confirmations) within the company’s accounting system.
* Maintain and update supplier master data and preferred supplier records.
* Enforce authorisation workflows: verify approvals, match orders to invoices and confirm receipt of goods/services.
* Assist with basic financial analysis of outstanding payables and provide input to short-term cash planning.
Skills & experience
* Minimum three years’ experience in an accounting or finance support role.
* Practical knowledge of VAT and supplier accounting.
* A track record of improving processes and tightening controls.
* Excellent accuracy with numerical data and strong keyboard/data-entry skills.
* Effective communicator with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
* Familiarity with mainstream accounting packages and expense platforms advantageous.
