We are currently seeking a Senior Highways Project Engineer to join a specialized infrastructure team based anywhere in Ireland. The ideal candidate will hold Chartered Engineer status or be on the path to achieving it, with a strong background in overseeing the delivery of highway, active travel, and/or greenway projects from planning to design phases.
Responsibilities:
* Lead the delivery of various projects related to highways, active travel, and greenways
* Design and manage documentation utilizing CAD software, collaborating closely with CAD Technicians
* Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including Engineers, Ecologists, and Scientists
* Mentor junior staff within the Infrastructure sector
* Prepare technical reports, tenders, and proposals
* Attend onsite meetings with clients and professionals
* Ensure projects adhere to agreed timescales, quality standards, and budgets
* Maintain compliance with Quality Assurance, Health and Safety regulations, and relevant design standards
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in Civil or Transportation Engineering
* Minimum 7 years of post-graduate experience in Civil Engineering
* Chartered Engineer status or in the process of achieving it
* Proficiency in design standards and guidelines such as TII, DMURS, NCM, and project appraisal guidelines
* Familiarity with AutoCAD and AutoCAD Civil 3D preferred
* Strong communication, management, and organizational skills
* Ability to work collaboratively and independently, meeting tight deadlines
* Willingness to travel for site visits and client meetings
* Valid Driver's License
