About the role:
EdStaff are building their pool of supply primary teachers ahead of the new academic year. We are supporting a number of primary schools across the St Helens area with supply cover, including on-the-day sickness cover to longer-term full-time positions. We are seeking dedicated, reliable and pro-active teachers for temporary positions across a range of year groups.
This is an excellent opportunity for an ECTs wanting to broaden their teaching experiences or an experienced educator looking for a new or flexible opportunity.
You will be responsible for stepping in to cover in a teacher’s absence and provide continuity of education for primary aged children, creating a safe, engaging and inclusive classroom environment. You should be able to efficiently relationships with both pupils and staff and integrate yourself into new school environments.
Key responsibilities:
* Deliver engaging, inclusive and curriculum focused lessons
* Promote a positive learning environment for all pupils
* Work collaboratively with colleagues and support staff to ensure the best outcomes for pupils
* Be able to step in and deliver pre-planned lessons, sometimes at short notice
* Adhere to school policies and procedures
Person specification:
* Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
* Adaptable and able to think on your feet
* Reliable and punctual with a professional attitude
* Strong knowledge of the national curriculum at KS1 and 2
* Able to efficiently build positive relationships with pupils and colleagues
Essential requirements:
* Right to work in the UK
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – must state minimum qualification or experience needed
* Experience working within a UK Primary School setting
* Enhanced DBS on the update service or willing to obtain one
* Able to provide references to cover a 2-year period
