The Opportunity
We’re looking for a Pre-employment Screening Handler to join our vetting team on a permanent basis. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a busy, fast-paced, SLA-driven environment and enjoys managing high volumes of work while maintaining strong attention to detail.
You’ll be responsible for end-to-end handling of pre-employment and in-employment screening cases for a key client. While previous screening or vetting experience is highly desirable, it’s not essential. What matters most is your ability to work at pace, take initiative, follow things up, and deliver a consistently high level of service.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Manage a high volume of screening cases from start to finish, ensuring accuracy and timely completion.
* Handle both pre-employment and in-employment screening, in line with client requirements and compliance standards.
* Monitor and manage multiple shared mailboxes, prioritising incoming enquiries and responding within agreed SLAs.
* Handle a high volume of enquiries, providing clear, accurate, and professional responses to candidates, clients, and internal stakeholders.
* Proactively chase outstanding information, identify delays, and keep cases moving without being prompted.
* Communicate effectively with candidates, clients, and internal teams to resolve queries and progress cases.
* Work to agreed SLAs and KPIs, balancing speed, quality, and compliance in a fast-paced environment.
* Maintain accurate records and documentation, ensuring all activity is audit-ready.
* Build strong working relationships with a key client, acting as a reliable and responsive point of contact.
* Escalate issues where required and contribute to continuous improvements in processes and service delivery.
About You
We’re looking for someone who can bring:
* Experience in a busy, customer-focused role with high volumes and tight deadlines (essential).
* Confidence managing multiple inboxes, enquiries, or queues in an SLA-driven environment.
* Previous experience in screening, vetting, compliance, or background checking (ideal but not essential).
* Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.
* A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with the confidence to follow things through.
* Clear, professional written and verbal communication skills.
* Good working knowledge of Word and Excel.
* Resilience, adaptability, and attention to detail in a fast-moving setting.
Please note that initially, you will be required to work onsite at our HQ in Salford, but there is flexibility to work on a hybrid basis once fully self sufficient in the role.
