We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Chef de Partie with a background in exceptional catering services to join our team at a renowned educational setting.
The school is situated on a 60-acre rural campus in Kent, serving approximately 366 students, staff, and including both day and boarding students, with breakfast, lunch, supper, and hospitality services.
This role involves weekend work, with an enhanced hourly rate. Midweek hours are also available with a standard rate. Flexibility in shift days and times can be discussed.
As a Chef de Partie, you will work with our culinary team to craft flavorful dishes that nourish both body and mind. You should have excellent presentation, organizational, and communication skills, a passion for food & service, and enthusiasm.
* Ensure all dishes meet quality and presentation standards
* Assist in menu planning, considering dietary restrictions and nutritional guidelines
* Manage stock control and ordering to minimize waste
* Collaborate on special events and culinary initiatives
* Maintain health and safety standards in the kitchen
* Stay updated on industry trends and culinary techniques
* Demonstrate leadership, effective communication, and teamwork
Qualifications:
* Experience in a similar role within catering or education preferred
* Culinary degree or certifications
* Knowledge of food safety standards
* Ability to multitask and work under pressure
* Excellent communication skills
* Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
* Enthusiastic, organized, team player, flexible
