Overview

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Occupational Therapist to join the Trauma and Orthopaedic Therapy Service for 33 hours per week, to provide Clinical Professional Leadership within the service.

This role involves both clinical and operational responsibilities, deputising for the Team Lead as appropriate. The successful candidate will provide a high quality, evidence based therapy service to patients admitted to hospital on a trauma and/or orthopaedic pathway. This will include, but is not exclusive to, trauma, major trauma, elective surgery, fractured neck of femur and amputee patients.

The post holder will provide highly specialist Occupational Therapist intervention for a caseload of Orthopaedic patients and offer advanced clinical reasoning within the specialism to support complex decision making. The successful will be responsible for service development in line with current evidenced based practice and have involvement in leading audit, education and training.


Clinical Leadership and Management

Provide clinical leadership and direction to the Trauma and Orthopaedic Team.

Carry own caseload and oversee caseloads of clinical staff to provide high level clinical decision making in line with current evidence based practice.

The post holder will deputise for the Team Lead as necessary in managing the operations of the team.

Disclosure and Barring Service Check: If this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.

Please note if applicable, applicants will be required to pay for their DBS check. Costs are deducted from salary following appointment.

If you have not already done so, you are therefore encouraged to enrol for the DBS Update Service to which a small annual fee of £13 per year applies.
