I am recruiting on behalf of my client, a well-established engineering business specialising in the design and build of complex test systems for MOD and aerospace applications, who are looking to appoint a detail-focused Manufacturing Inspector to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Manufacturing Inspector to work in a highly regulated environment where quality is critical and every product must meet stringent industry standards. As a Manufacturing Inspector, you will play a key role in ensuring that all products — from cable looms and PCBs to full test systems — are inspected and tested to the highest standards. This Manufacturing Inspector position will see you working across both production and prototype builds, maintaining compliance with AS9100 and IPC requirements while supporting continuous improvement across the business. In this Manufacturing Inspector role, your responsibilities will include: Working to specified customer and internal test procedures Carrying out electrical and mechanical inspection of cable looms, test fixtures and complete systems Inspecting and testing PCBs, power supplies and sub-systems Conducting production and prototype wiring loom inspections to drawings and wiring schedules Performing PAT testing, high voltage insulation and earth bonding, including certification Liaising with manufacturing and engineering teams to resolve faults efficiently Reporting design faults and supporting corrective and preventative actions Producing accurate inspection and test records in line with internal quality processesTo be successful in this Manufacturing Inspector position, you will need: Inspection and test experience within a quality-controlled environment Experience inspecting prototype or special-to-type systems and looms Ability to read and understand electronic drawings, schematics and wiring schedules Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills A methodical and organised approach with the ability to follow procedures Clear communication skills and the ability to work independently Basic computer skillsDesirable experience for this Manufacturing Inspector role includes: BTEC (or equivalent) in Electronics Previous Quality Control experience Experience in a similar Manufacturing Inspector position Understanding of electrical test equipment including power supplies, switching circuits, and analogue/digital circuits Familiarity with IPC 610 and IPC 620 standards MOD or aerospace industry backgroundThis Manufacturing Inspector role offers a competitive salary, long-term stability, and the opportunity to work on technically advanced aerospace and defence projects.
