We are seeking a dedicated Healthcare Assistant, with experience of working within a GP Primary Care environment, to join our nursing team. The ideal candidate will work under the direct supervision of our Advanced Nurse Practitioner and strictly in accordance with specific practice guidelines and protocols.
This Part-Time Healthcare Assistant role offers a permanent contract to the successful candidate, working 12 hours, half day Thursday and all day Friday

Urinalysis and preparation of specimens
Diabetic Foot Checks
Weight Management
Processing and management of laboratory samples requested by GPs and Nurses
Sterilising, cleansing and maintenance of surgical equipment
Vaccine/cold chain storage, monitoring and recording
Surgical equipment and vaccine re-stocking and stock rotation
Clearing and re-stocking consulting rooms
Preparing and maintaining environments and equipment before, during and after patient care interventions, including assisting GPs during the performance of minor operations
Assisting in the assessment and surveillance of patients health and well-being
Helping to raise awareness of health and well-being and how it can be promoted

Seaton and Colyton Medical Practice serves a patient population of just over 9,000 across two sites: the main surgery located in Seaton and a branch surgery in Colyton. We pride ourself on delivering high-quality, patient-centred care within a supportive and collaborative working environment.
The clinical team includes 5 experienced GP Partners and 2 Salaried GPs, supported by a Paramedic and a Nurse Practitioner. A diverse and skilled Nursing Team compliments the clinical provision, comprising Practice Nurses, Healthcare Assistants (HCAs), a Trainee Nurse Associate, and a GP Assistant.

Person Specification
Experience
* Experience of working in a GP Practice
Qualifications
* Minimum GCSE grade A to C in English and Maths
* Qualified in Phlebotomy
