Advert EDUCATION, COMMUNITIES AND HOUSING Various Schools Relief Toothbrushing Supervisor Hours are offered on an as and required basis £14.96 per hour (including Distant Islands Allowance) This post will involve organising and supervising children brushing their teeth as part of the NHS Orkney Childsmile Toothbrushing Programme in various schools, as and when required, providing cover for the usual member of the team. You will work on your own supervising children brushing their teeth, but you will have regular contact with the NHS Orkney Oral Health Team. While your role is not to brush children’s teeth you will be there to encourage the children to brush their teeth well and develop this important lifetime habit. The hours are worked around daily school timetables and breaks and will follow the routine established toothbrushing timetable for that school. Appropriate and relevant experience of working with children is essential and a basic knowledge / interest in oral health improvement would be an advantage. Applicants must also have an awareness of infection control procedures. You should be able to travel efficiently and effectively between work locations within Orkney to meet the operational requirements of the Service.
