Role: Security Lead – ‘Project A’ (New Opening Hotel)
Hours: Full-time
Location: The Imperial, Bloomsbury, London
About Us
‘Project A’ is the new destination rooftop bar at The Imperial, Bloomsbury opening Summer 2026. Part of the Imperial London Hotels family, we are a seventh‑generation, family‑run business with a 187‑year legacy and a renewed vision for modern, authentic London hospitality.
About The Role:
As Security Lead, you will create an environment at The Imperial's new rooftop bar that feels effortlessly safe, calm and discreet. You’ll lead all safety, security and emergency readiness across the hotel, shaping an atmosphere where guests feel cared for and the team feels protected.
Your approach is modern, quietly confident and service‑driven: visible when needed, invisible when appropriate. You’ll coach a vigilant, guest‑aware security team, champion security risk management, and work closely with Guest Experience, Housekeeping, Engineering and F&B to support smooth, secure operations during working hours.
What You’ll Be Doing:
* Maintain a reassuring presence across the hotel, balancing visibility with discretion
* Support a warm, welcoming atmosphere by engaging guests professionally when assistance is needed
* Respond to incidents, lost property, welfare concerns and sensitive situations with empathy and sound judgement
* Lead daily patrols, CCTV monitoring, perimeter checks and incident reviews
* Maintain a secure environment across guest areas, back‑of‑house, entrances, loading bay and deliveries
* Manage crowd flow during peak times, events, VIP visits and external disruptions
* Support responsible alcohol‑related safety management, including welfare oversight and refusal-of-entry/service protocols
* Ensure compliance with legislation, licensing objectives, risk assessments and life‑safety systems
* Liaise with police, fire brigade and local authorities when required
* Recruit, train and mentor a confident security team with strong guest‑awareness skills
* Set clear expectations on professionalism, communication and conduct
* Deliver scenario‑based training in evacuations, conflict management and first response
* Foster an inclusive, calm and supportive team culture
* Produce accurate team briefings and shift reports
* Lead by example, setting a calm, confident and service‑focused standard that inspires your team to deliver consistently high levels of safety and guest care
Who You Are:
* Experienced in hotel security or security management, ideally in premium or high‑volume environments
* Strong working knowledge of UK security legislation, emergency procedures and risk management
* Skilled in CCTV, access control and incident reporting systems
* Calm, clear communicator with excellent judgement
* Organised, proactive and comfortable leading in fast‑moving situations
