Our Newcastle office is recruiting for an Accounts Payable Assistant to join one of the largest finance teams in the North East. The team includes over 60 finance professionals supporting operations across Europe, the Middle East, and Asia (EMEA).
The Role
This position is within our Finance Department in Newcastle, reporting to the Chrome River and Payments Manager. The team supports the EMEA Chrome River functions and manages UK and some EMEA payment runs. We utilize SAP as our ERP system and Chrome River/Emburse for invoice and expense workflows. The role operates on a shift system (08:00 to 18:00, Monday to Friday).
Key Responsibilities
* Responding to Service Now support tickets, including:
o Reporting requests
o Invoice and expense queries
o Troubleshooting
o Finance process and policy questions related to Chrome River
o System support issues
* Coordinating with internal Chrome River support and the Service Desk for escalations or system failures.
* Maintaining the EMEA Chrome River dashboard with links, FAQs, and tips.
* Engaging with stakeholders such as EMEA Finance Teams and IT to communicate updates and review training materials.
Payments:
* Generating UK and EMEA payment runs, ensuring timely transactions via SAP and banking platforms, and resolving issues with uncleared items.
* Entering manual payment requests on HSBCnet/RBS Bankline as needed.
* Supporting the payment team with requests, timings, and bank reconciliations.
* Managing the firm's agile payment solutions, including American Express and HSBC Virtual Cards.
* Performing other ad hoc tasks as required.

* Knowledge of SAP, Chrome River, or similar workflow solutions is advantageous.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
* Experience in a professional services environment is beneficial but not essential.
