How you will contribute to transforming the smart energy network and shaping the future.
As a Supplier Business Manager, you will operate within a ~45-strong Contract & Supplier Management function, managing a complex supplier portfolio within a £6bn+ supply chain. Taking a strategic account management approach, you will be accountable for supplier performance, risk, and value delivery across the DCC ecosystem.
You will:
Own supplier performance oversight, ensuring clarity, transparency, and accountability across contract, service, customer, and regulatory measures
Lead supplier governance, including monthly supplier reviews and complex performance forums, ensuring accurate, concise, and senior-ready reporting
Identify and resolve supplier issues and escalations, implementing structured, sustainable improvement and stability plans
Drive continuous improvement, working cross-functionally to protect service, reduce risk, and optimise cost
Act as a critical interface between DCC, suppliers, customers, and industry forumsproviding confident, clear updates to senior stakeholders
What you need to bring:
To be successful in this role, you will bring strong account management capability, resilience, and the confidence to lead challenging conversations while maintaining collaborative relationships. In particular, you will have:
Proven experience account managing complex suppliers within service-based or regulated environments (energy, utilities, or telecoms desirable)
Strong commercial acumen, with experience managing supplier performance, budgets, and improvement plans
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, including producing high-quality, time-critical briefings for senior audiences
A track record of leading issue resolution and escalation management in high-pressure environments
A proactive, detail-oriented mindset, comfortable working with ambiguity and shifting priorities
(ITIL knowledge is beneficial but not essential.)
