About the Opportunity Our client, a respected multidisciplinary building consultancy, is seeking an experienced External Wall Consultant to join their expanding team in Leeds. This is an excellent opportunity for a specialist with strong technical knowledge of external wall systems, cladding, and building safety to take the next step in their career within a supportive and forward-thinking environment. The Role As an External Wall Consultant, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality technical assessments and guidance on external wall systems across a diverse project portfolio. Key duties include: Carrying out detailed external wall surveys, including cladding and fire safety assessments. Producing EWS1 forms, technical reports, and remediation recommendations. Advising clients on building safety compliance, material suitability, and risk mitigation measures. Working closely with project teams, contractors, and building owners to ensure best practice. Undertaking site inspections and monitoring remediation or installation works. Keeping up to date with PAS 9980, UK Building Regulations, and current industry standards. Candidate Requirements Background in building surveying, façade consultancy, fire engineering, or a related technical discipline. Strong understanding of cladding systems, fire performance, and building fabric. Experience producing EWS1 assessments or similar technical reporting (preferred). Excellent communication and client-facing skills. Ability to manage projects independently and meet deadlines. Professional membership (RICS, IFE, ICE, CABE etc.) is advantageous but not essential.
