This rapidly growing business operates in a specialist field deploying its products and services to both commercial and domestic customers. Having recently appointed a Finance Director, the business is now gearing up for expansion, which will involve opening new sites in the future and bringing some of its currently outsourced accountancy support in-house. In order to accommodate this, they would like to recruit an Assistant Management Accountant to join the business in a support role to the FD and oversee a small team. This role will provide an excellent development opportunity for someone looking to benefit from mentorship and the chance to enjoy a varied role in an SME finance function.
Duties
The ideal candidate is a strong Assistant Management Accountant looking for more ownership of the Management Accounts and month‑end processes, or a more experienced individual seeking a new challenge in a growing business. Applications from AAT qualified or early/part‑qual CIMA/ACCA candidates are welcomed but not essential. The main duties are:
 * Preparation of monthly management accounts
 * Supporting production of month‑end board reports
 * Reporting for main trading company and divisions
 * Balance sheet reconciliations
 * Preparing cash‑flow forecasts
 * Developing KPIs and analysis
 * Assisting / owning the year‑end accounts preparation
 * Producing VAT returns and dealing with HMRC
 * Overseeing sales and purchase ledger
 * Supporting implementation of XERO
This will be a great role for someone who would enjoy working with a charismatic FD and being part of an ambitious team motivated to drive the business forward. The position is office based and some flexibility to work a day from home can be discussed once up and running.
