Turn IT On is currently seeking an experienced ICT Consultant/Senior ICT Technician who is motivated and enthusiastic about technology. The ideal candidate should have a natural flair for technology, a strong willingness to learn, and a passion for providing exceptional service to our customers. Join an expanding team supporting schools in and around Buckinghamshire.
This role involves supporting a trust of primary schools, acting as the liaison between the schools and Turn IT On. You will ensure that they are informed about our products and services, manage customer accounts, and maintain IT hardware and software across school sites to improve ICT provision and support effective teaching and learning through ICT solutions.
To be suitable for this role, you should have a passionate interest in IT, a solid technical background, and be self-driven and enthusiastic about customer service. Excellent communication and organizational skills are essential, as you will liaise regularly with school senior management. Our ideal candidate has at least 2-3 years' experience in a Senior ICT Technician or 2nd/3rd support role in the education sector, though this is not essential. Ability to work independently, troubleshoot effectively, and proactively enhance team services are key qualities.
Responsibilities include:
* Handling 2nd/3rd line issues, responding to ICT emergencies & school complaints.
* Resolving technical issues impacting school operations with robust solutions.
* Providing internal network support.
* Supporting and mentoring 1st/2nd support roles.
* Enforcing and monitoring policies in line with school guidelines.
* Providing internal staff training.
* Leading installation or repair of computers with standardized applications and networking software, diagnosing and resolving operational problems.
* Managing a wide range of technical duties related to the computer network and desktop services, including upgrades and installations of desktops, iPads, printers, telephones, scanners, projectors, PA equipment, AV lecterns, and hardware.
Skills/Abilities:
* Windows Server, Active Directory, and Microsoft Operating Systems
* Virtualization Technologies – particularly HyperV
* Cloud Technologies – Office365/Azure
* Experience leading server and network installations
* Ability to make proactive decisions during ICT emergencies
* Outstanding customer service with positive, proactive communication skills (verbal and written)
* Flexible and adaptable
* Friendly and approachable
* Excellent team player
* Ability to work independently, plan, and organize time effectively
The role is full-time, year-round. The successful candidate will undergo enhanced DBS and safeguarding checks. Due to the location, a driving license and personal vehicle are required.
We offer a salary between GBP30,000 - GBP35,000, negotiable for the right candidate.
