Electrical Estimator – Building Services – Bristol / Southwest Region
We are looking for an experienced Electrical Estimator to join a leading Building Services contractor working on high-profile commercial and industrial projects across the Southwest, including Bristol and surrounding areas.

Employment Type: Permanent - Office-based (9-day fortnight optional)

As an Electrical Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing competitive and accurate cost estimates for electrical building services projects. You'll work closely with the bid team, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal project teams to produce detailed tender submissions, identify risks and opportunities, and support the company’s growth and project success.
Key Responsibilities:
• Review tender documentation, drawings, and specifications thoroughly.
• Perform detailed material take-offs and enter estimates into the costing system.
• Manage and coordinate subcontractor and supplier enquiries, ensuring competitive pricing.
• Compile risk and opportunity registers, value engineering proposals, and compliance assessments.
• Lead or contribute to tender review meetings and prepare final submission documentation.
• Support technical clarifications and attend post-tender meetings as needed.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of electrical standards, regulations, and best practices.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure clear and accurate estimates.
Requirements:
• Proven experience as an Electrical Estimator within the building services, MEP, or construction sectors.
• Strong technical understanding of electrical installations including lighting, power, fire alarms, access control, and data systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and project specifications.
• Skilled in using estimating software and Excel; experience with MCA systems is advantageous.
• Excellent organisational, analytical, and communication skills.
• Degree, HNC, or HND in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
• Site experience or a practical electrical background would be beneficial.
