Role: SEN Teaching Assistant
Contract: Flexible, ad-hoc
Working Hours: Monday - Friday, 08:30 - 15:30, term time only
Salary: £14.45 - £15.20 per hour
Are you a passionate and adaptable SEN Teaching Assistant looking for flexible work opportunities? We are recruiting SEN Teaching Assistants to work across a range of special educational needs (SEN) schools and provisions. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain experience in diverse settings while making a meaningful impact on students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
About The Role:
As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will support students with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs, autism, ADHD and other learning difficulties. You will have the flexibility to choose short-term, long-term or day-to-day assignments across a variety of SEN and mainstream settings.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide one-to-one and group support to students with a range of SEN.
2. Assist the teachers in delivering tailored plans that support individual learning needs.
3. Use positive behaviour management strategies to help students engage in learning.
4. Foster a safe and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student confidence and independence.
5. Work alongside teachers, therapists and SENCOs to implement EHCPs.
6. Adapt to different school environments and be ready to support varied educational approaches.
Who We’re Looking For:
1. Experience working with children in the UK is essential. Experience with SEN, SEMH or additional learning needs would be highly beneficial.
2. A patient, compassionate and resilient approach to supporting students.
3. The ability to adapt quickly to different school settings and student requirements.
4. A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable but not essential).
5. A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is advantageous but not required.
6. A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
