About the role
At Kirklees College we are always looking for new talent, and welcome applications from all sectors. We're already a successful college, but we're continually striving to be better and do better - be part of our story!
In the role of People & Culture Advisor you'll predominantly be based at Waterfront and your focus will be on the delivery of consistent and accurate HR reporting, coaching and advice to all business areas covering a wide range of support in areas such as employee relations, learning and development, recruitment, EDI (Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion), and Wellbeing. This role is a fixed term position supporting on compliance and bespoke project work within the People & Culture team across recruitment, assisting with benchmarking and pay structures, and supporting organisational development initiatives. Alongside this work you may be dealing with enquiries from managers and employees on all aspects of the employee lifecycle, management of the Service Desk ensuring service excellence in line with SLA's, and providing coaching, support and guidance to line managers on HR policy and processes.
Ideally, you'll have CIPD Level 5 (or be able to prove equivalent ability) and demonstrable experience within a generalist HR role competent in disciplinary, grievance and absence management. It's important that you're able to communicate effectively, build sound relationships with key stakeholders, and demonstrate our College values of Kindness, Unity and Excellence in your role. Due to the nature of our work, it's essential you're committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults.
We believe learning is not just for our students: it's an important part of working here too. Staff development opportunities include a mentoring scheme, financial contributions for external qualifications and skills development for current and aspiring managers. You'll also have access to a range of staff benefits including an employee assistance programme, retail and leisure discounts and reduced Metro travel.
We want people who believe in the value of education, and who can contribute to our culture of supporting and challenging one another.
