Health & Safety Manager – Groundworks Swindon / Bristol region Start date: ASAP Permanent role The Opportunity We’re seeking an experienced Health & Safety Manager to join a well-established groundworks contractor delivering major projects across Swindon, Bristol, and the wider South West. This is a permanent position, offering the chance to play a pivotal role in shaping and maintaining the highest safety standards across multiple live sites. The Role * Oversee all aspects of health, safety, and environmental management across groundworks projects. * Work closely with main contractors and project teams to ensure compliance with HSE legislation. * Carry out site audits, inspections, and incident investigations. * Lead on the preparation and implementation of risk assessments, method statements, and site safety plans. * Promote a proactive safety culture, providing training, support, and guidance to site teams. * Report regularly to senior management on safety performance and improvements. About You * Previous experience in a Health & Safety Manager role within groundworks / civil engineering / construction. * Strong working knowledge of CDM regulations, HSE standards, and industry best practice. * Comfortable engaging with main contractors and client representatives. * NEBOSH / IOSH qualifications (or equivalent) are essential. * Proactive, approachable, and confident in influencing others on site.
