This is a fixed‑term contract (12 months) supporting the delivery of accurate management accounts, overhead control, and commercial financial analysis within our Bristol team. The role is hybrid with 3 days in the office and 2 from home, with flexible starting times between 7am and 10am within a 39‑hour week. There is potential for the role to become permanent, depending on business needs at the end of the term.
What You’ll Do
* Manage month‑end close for overhead accounts, including accruals, prepayments, journals, and reconciliations.
* Prepare overhead reports and provide commentary to help budget holders understand and manage their costs.
* Support commercial reporting through margin analysis, pricing reports, and variance analysis.
* Work with budget holders to prepare annual overhead budgets and rolling forecasts.
* Build the budget for 2027, tracking spend against plan and highlighting key variances.
* Act as a finance partner to non‑finance colleagues across the business, helping them understand their financial performance.
* Support improvements to overhead accounting processes and contribute to finance transformation projects where applicable.
What You’ll Bring
* Experience with overheads, month‑end close, and overhead reporting.
* Experience with variance analysis for commercial purposes.
* The ability to work independently.
* A natural curiosity for data.
Desirable
* A manufacturing or previous contracting experience background.
* Studying towards or holding an accountancy qualification (ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent).
