Toyota, the world's largest automotive manufacturer, is seeking to recruit a CNC Machinist to join the Tool & Die Press department at their Burnaston, Derbyshire plant.
Home to the iconic Toyota Corolla, the world's second most popular vehicle, this state-of-the-art facility has been a key part of the community since the early 1990s. It employs over 2,000 dedicated team members, each playing a vital role in Toyota's continued success.
As Toyota's flagship European site, the UK division significantly contributes to the company's global operations, generating approximately GBP3 billion of the GBP210 billion annual turnover. TMUK is renowned for its pioneering approach and cutting-edge technologies, maintaining a competitive edge.
The site comprises five manufacturing shops: Press, Body, Paint, Plastics, and Assembly, each with unique challenges. From precision stamping to final vehicle assembly, every shop plays a critical role in production.
About the role
As a CNC Machinist, you will be responsible for machining parts within a press environment, including die steels. You will also support maintenance tasks around the factory using CNC machinery.
* Setting and operating CNC machinery
* Reverse engineering of parts
* Constructing 3D models and conducting 3D part scanning
* Reading engineering drawings
* 20% of the role involves working within a tool and die capacity (full training provided)
* Preparation and maintenance of existing tooling
* Attending to breakdowns on press tooling
* Supporting the production of new press tooling
* Mechanical stripping and rebuilding
* Welding (Stainless steel/TIG) & Laser (training provided)
About you
To be considered, you should have prior experience working in a similar manufacturing or workshop environment.
* Recognised Level 3 engineering qualification
* Experience interpreting engineering drawings
* A mindset for continuous improvement
* A desire to develop and learn new skills
* Flexibility to work overtime when required
